Buying Baby Onesies | Internet or Physical Store?
By doups3
Should I Buy Baby Onesies on the Internet or at a Physical Location?
As an owner of a baby clothing shop I often get asked about the difference between buying baby onesies online and in a physical brick-and-mortar store. Both sides definitely have some advantages and some disadvantages. Below I will outline some questions you might want to ponder as you try to decide where to purchase your baby’s precious clothes.
Round 1 (Price)
In today’s economic environment it seems that price trumps all. If you are looking for the least expensive onesies available, then I would check online. Online prices tend to be a little lower than physical stores because online baby shops don’t have to buy a store and a warehouse (normally).
Round 1 Winner: Online Shops
Round 2 (Timing)
When people purchase something they usually like to have the item right away. If you fall into the category of not being able to wait, then a physical shop is definitely for you. When you purchase onesies for babies online, you never know exactly when it will arrive; and we all know shipping can be a real headache, not to mention expensive.
Round 2 Winner: Physical Shops
Round 3 (Variety)
Ten years ago I would have told you that hands
down the shopping malls and other superstores carry a larger variety
of onesies than anything you will see on the Internet. Nowadays the opposite is
true. Online baby clothing stores have massive varieties and some of
the shops are even set up for customization. On top of that, there are
1000’s of web pages that sell baby onesies. If you are disappointed
with the variety at your normal shopping mall, why not try hitting the
Internet.
Round 3 Winner: Online Shops
Round 4 (Overall Experience)
A
lot of factors go into this 4th and final round. First of all, let’s
talk about something I like to call browsability. How easily can you
peruse the selection of baby clothing? In a physical store you get to
walk up and down all of the aisles and actually touch the clothing. On
the web you can look at 100’s of different styles of clothing by simply
moving your mouse. The Internet seems to provide an easier method for
browsing, but you aren’t actually touching the onesies. Not knowing
exactly what you are going to get can be difficult sometimes.
Round 4 Winner: Toss Up
One
last thing you may want to consider when choosing where to buy your
baby clothes is whether or not you enjoy the overall ambience created
at some of the brick and mortar shops. If you really enjoy getting
dressed up and heading to the mall, then this might be a better route
for you. If, on the other hand, you despise having to waste all of that
time, then the Internet can be a quick and easy route. Either way,
Internet or physical shop, you’re still bound to have a great time
because you’re buying baby clothing!
